Themes and appearance
The app separates app-wide appearance from per-workspace color. Pick one global mode, then tint each workspace independently so personal, work, and client contexts stay visually distinct.
Appearance mode
Section titled “Appearance mode”Set the app to System, Light, or Dark from Settings. System follows the macOS appearance and switches when the OS does. Light and Dark lock the app to that mode.
Mode changes apply live across the app and every open workspace.
Default and workspace themes
Section titled “Default and workspace themes”Default theme supplies the starting appearance for new workspaces and the value used when you reset a workspace theme. Choose Customize theme to edit the active workspace without changing every other workspace.
Workspace colors
Section titled “Workspace colors”Each workspace carries its own chrome, accent, and highlight colors, stored independently for light and dark mode. The same workspace can show a teal tint in dark mode and a warm orange tint in light mode.
- Chrome color tints the sidebar, panel borders, and surrounding frame.
- Accent color tints tabs, links, command-key affordances, and the active workspace marker.
- Accent style controls how the accent highlights interactive surfaces.
- Highlight color controls selected and emphasized content.
Hue, saturation, and lightness are continuous, not a fixed palette. Pick any color from the workspace color controls. The app applies the change live.
Transparency and tint intensity
Section titled “Transparency and tint intensity”Two sliders fine-tune the chrome treatment:
- Background transparency sets how much of the desktop or window behind shows through the workspace chrome.
- Tint intensity controls how strongly the workspace color saturates the chrome.
Lower transparency and lower tint intensity produce a quieter chrome; higher values push the workspace identity forward.
Choose the installed fonts used by code-oriented surfaces:
- Monospace font — code blocks, the diff view, and inline code in chat.
- Terminal font — the terminal pane.
The app ships sensible defaults and lets you choose another installed font from Settings → Appearance.
Text sizes
Section titled “Text sizes”Surface-specific size controls let you tune individual areas without resizing the whole app:
- Chat text scale — chats and agent terminal tabs.
- Editor and diff font size — code in the editor and diff views.
- Terminal tab font size — the main terminal pane.
- Right-sidebar terminal font size — terminals docked in the right panel.
Adjust the surface that feels cramped; the app keeps these sizes independent.
Terminal colors
Section titled “Terminal colors”Choose a terminal color palette separately from the workspace chrome. The palette changes terminal foreground, background, and ANSI colors without changing the app theme.
Tabs, sidebars, and status
Section titled “Tabs, sidebars, and status”Appearance settings also control several layout-related visual defaults:
- Workspace-tab placement and pinned-tab style.
- Compact or Detailed left-sidebar layout and the compact sidebar label.
- The number of visible worktrees per project.
- Sidebar commit status.
- Default right-panel layout and automatic sidebar hiding.
- Word wrap in the editor and diff view.
- Live-edit previews in Chat UI.
- Loading-indicator style.

Live updates
Section titled “Live updates”Theme, color, transparency, font, and size changes apply immediately. Switch workspaces and the chrome retints to match the new context.
