super.engineering uses a local-first architecture to minimize data collection and retention. Prompts, source code, files, conversations, and model outputs stay on your device. super.engineering does not transmit or store them.

Information We Collect

Desktop Application

The super.engineering desktop application does not require user accounts.

We do not collect or store:

• Prompts
• Source code
• Files
• Conversations
• Model responses
• API keys
• Customer content

The desktop application collects anonymous product telemetry so we can improve reliability, performance, and product quality. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy by turning off Share anonymous usage data.

Release builds contact our release server hourly to check for updates. The first check of each day includes an anonymous marker used to count active installs in aggregate. These requests contain no identifier, no customer content, and no per-install data is stored. Because they contain nothing personal to opt out of, they are independent of the telemetry setting.

This telemetry may include:

• Application version
• Operating system version
• Feature usage
• Performance metrics
• Crash diagnostics

Anonymous telemetry does not include prompts, source code, files, conversations, model responses, API keys, or other customer content.

Website

Our website uses PostHog for optional website analytics. PostHog analytics do not load until you accept analytics.

When enabled, this information may include:

• Page views
• Browser and device information
• Referring pages
• General website usage statistics

We use this information to understand website usage and improve the website experience.

AI Providers

super.engineering allows you to connect AI providers of your choice.

Your device sends requests directly to the AI provider you configure. super.engineering does not proxy, inspect, store, or retain your prompts, source code, files, conversations, or model responses.

The handling of your data by an AI provider is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms.

Data Storage

super.engineering does not store customer prompts, source code, files, conversations, or model outputs.

We process anonymous desktop telemetry and consented website analytics through our PostHog instance hosted in the United States.

Data Security

Customer content stays on your device.

The application encrypts network communications using industry-standard TLS.

Data Retention

Because super.engineering does not store customer content, we cannot retrieve, access, or disclose your prompts, source code, files, conversations, or model outputs.

We retain anonymous telemetry and consented website analytics only as long as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the product.

Third-Party Services

super.engineering currently uses:

• PostHog for anonymous product telemetry and optional website analytics.
• Cloudflare for website and release hosting, update delivery, and aggregate install counts.

Users may connect third-party AI providers directly from the desktop application. Those providers operate independently of super.engineering and are responsible for their own privacy and security practices.

International Users

Super Dot Engineering LLC and its service providers process anonymous telemetry and consented website analytics in the United States. If you access the service from another country, information may be processed in a country with different data-protection laws.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. You may also withdraw consent for optional analytics and complain to your local data-protection authority.

Email humans@super.engineering to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required by law.

We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Website Analytics and Cookies

PostHog analytics are optional and do not load until you accept analytics. You can decline without losing access to the website.

Use the “Cookies” link in the site footer to change your choice. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection on this browser.

Children's Privacy

super.engineering is not intended for use by children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
